Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I stayed in Estes Park campground in 2017. Little did I know that this would be one of my favorite places in the world.  The amount of beauty that is found in Estes Park is breathtaking. One of the first things that you notice as you begin to ascend the mountains in this beautiful place is the color of the sky.

The sky is a deep bright blue, and you can see the rain clouds build up behind the mountains as you enter into the campground that I stayed in during the fall semester in 2017. The rock formations on the sides of the hills are of exquisite quality and display what I believe to be the creation at its finest.

The hiking trails were beautiful as well along with many squirrels. The exciting thing about the animals within Estes Park is that they were not afraid of all the people that are there. The squirrels would come right up to you for some trail mix or for some nuts. The lakes within the park are beautiful as well and are all naturally formed. There were many waterfalls on one of the trails I went on, and they were just as impressive. The interesting thing is how little cellphone service I had while I was there.

Estes Park is a beautiful place that people can go to get away from the mundane and where they can experience nature. The world is indeed a beautiful place, and the best thing is that it was created so that we as humans could experience God in our favorite places.

  1. I love this photo, Shaun: it is really beautiful and dramatic! Did you see I included it in the announcements today? It is so much fun watching the blog stream go by and when I see something that grabs my attention I bookmark it to share in the announcements. And of course I had to click and explore your website: YES YES YES. I am so glad you have discovered the power of blogging as a way to connect and share what's important to you. I've been blogging for years about teaching (ungrading, creative writing, etc.), and, slowly but surely, over time it has let me accomplish things that would never have been possible otherwise, like being invited to conferences, to contribute to books, etc. That's why I emphasize blogging in these classes: my hopes is that if/when people find something they are passionate about, they will be ready to use the Internet to connect and share with others! Yay!

  2. Hey Shaun! What awesome photos you have here! I have been to Colorado many times but I haven't been there much in the summer. Once I went to the Royal Gorge and we almost went on to Rock Mountain National Park but we went to Arches and several others in Utah instead. Your description makes me want to go check out Estes!

  3. Hi Shaun!
My only experience of Colorado involved a broken down car and an infested motel, so I'm glad you're showing us the beauty that everyone talks about! I can see why this would be your favorite place. I'd love to go there again some day and hopefully see the good side! I hope you get to go visit again soon!
